Pre-departure Processes

You will be briefed by ADA staff prior to your departure. The emphasis placed upon pre-departure training depends upon the length of the Scholarship. This is designed to provide you with an overview of your scholarship program, study requirements, life in Australia, financial arrangements etc.

The ADA placement staff will talk to you about the university placement process as well as provide information on the required medical examination and visa application process. http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/application-forms/

Application for Student Visa to study in Australia

The visa forms will be provided to you by the placement staff once offer of admission has been received from the university. You should complete this form and return it to the ADA office within ten days of receipt, as advised by ADA placement staff. It is mandatory for all awardees to provide a "Police Certificate" along with their visa application.

ADA will facilitate visa processing for awardees, and their family members, provided the respective university provides a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the awardee to be accompanied by their family, the awardee is able to provide the ADA office with their family’s Overseas Health Cover and proof of children’s school enrolment (where applicable). All successful applicants will need to pay for their family members' overseas health cover, medical, accommodation, travel and other costs. This can take some time, so it is recommended that this is organised following the Admission Offer.
